Unnaal Unnaal from Ambikapathy (2013)

It is the last day of the long weekend. I have been enjoying every minute of all the three days - at home, my sanctuary. To top it all off - it rained cats and dogs for a few hours this early afternoon. Right now, it is drizzling. And, the weather is just perfect. Perfect for anything. A cup of hot tea and some biscuits. A great movie - watched while cuddled up cozily on the sofa. An afternoon nap. Anything idle.....
My sister called me to watch Singam 2 at the cinema which is a ten minute drive away from home. I declined. For multiple reasons :-
1 - All I want to do is unwind at home. 2 - Surya is a good actor - but I am not keen on watching this sequel of his. To me, the first one itself was only so-so. 3. A friend of mine, who is a near perfect Tamil movie reviewer on in.com asked me to keep away from it. He made it sound pathetic. We have the same wavelength on good Tamil movies. I am heeding his advice.
Life has been wonderful of lately. I am happy and content with everything that is happening. In fact, I have gained 3 kgs during these few months. From an unhealthy 42kgs, I am currently a robust 45kg. The ideal weight for my petite frame.
I watched Thillu Mullu last night. With mom. The new one which has Shiva, Prakash Raj, Manobala and Kovai Sarala. It had its funny moments but nothing beats the original version which has Superstar Rajini, Thengai Sreenivasan and Sowcar Janaki. That will always remain a stellar.
I have yet to watch Dhanush's Ambikapathy. Later in the evening, if I find the time. Or else, I will reserve it for this weekend.
I have become a huge fan of Vijay TV's current season of Super Singer. I am die hard fan of Ramesh, the auto driver. And, Parvathy, Sai Vignesh and Divakaar as well as Uncle Algates. Thus, every weekday, from 9.30pm to 10.30pm, you will find me glued in front of the TV - enjoying this program.
I love my home. It has this mellow but serene feel about it. Even my neighbourhood is laid back. So, finding peace and relaxation here, is as easy as ABC. Today - I am sharing portions of my home with you - through the pictures I have taken throughout the day. Yes, I have my handy Canon back with me.....
I am also signing off with my current fancy - from Ambikapathy 2013. It is titled Unnaal Unnaal. The happy melody is just promising.
Have a great week ahead. Take care. God Bless.

Thillu Mullu from Thillu Mullu (2013) - The Funny Song

Hello everyone !!! Happy July !!! My heartfelt wishes that you are having a great start and will do so, for the entire month !!! Optimism, is always good.....
I was waiting for the weekend - impatiently. Had a short but awesome holiday from 28th June until  2nd July. Reached home, in the wee hours of Wednesday - around 1.15 am, and reported to work the same morning despite being dead tired. Would have extended my day off, given the chance. Unfortunately, my partner at work, was on his annual leave - that very day as well as Thursday and Friday. Delightedly, workload was moderate, and I managed to breeze through the 3 days - on my own.
The anticipation was also due to an extended weekend. Penang - was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site on 7th July 2011. It has become a state holiday since.
So, was literally, counting every nanosecond that led to Friday evening.... and now that the weekend is here, I am just wholesomely thrilled. Home is indeed sweet, and home is DEFINITELY where the heart is, and will continue to. Correct ?
A friend of mine mailed me on the immensity of A.R. Rahman-Dhanush's Ambikapathy songs. I absolutely agree. Most of the songs are magically melodious. Give it a try, ya !! You will get hooked on at least one - believe me. I have two - "Unnaal, Unnaal" and "Ambikapathy"..... Both, spirited and peppy.
I have managed to watch a couple of Tamil movies, in between my full plate days. Haridas, Ethir Neechal, Moondru Per Moondru Kathal, Kutti Pulli, Theeya Velai Seiyunum Kumaru to name a few. Out of all these, I would only recommend Haridas and Kutti Pulli. The rest were just not my cup of tea. I still have a couple of DVD's to watch. Maranthen Manithen, Udhayam NH4, Yaaruda Mahesh, Neram and Thillu Mullu. Will keep you updated on the good ones.
It is getting late. I need my 8 hours of slumber. Good night !!!!
Enjoy this great foot tapping number. Love the way MSV rocks !!!!
